Privacy Policy — Alwousta

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Alwousta is a local guide to Al Dhaid and Sharjah's Central Region, operated by Mohamed bin Huwaiden Alketbi.

Summary

You can browse without an account, and we do not collect your location. If you want to post a listing, we ask only for your email address to verify you. We do not sell data, and the app contains no tracking or advertising.

Data stored on your device

Your favorites and a cached copy of the guide's content are stored only on your device so the app loads faster and works offline. This data is never sent to us and is deleted when you remove the app.

Loading content

Content is loaded from our service provider (Supabase). As with any internet connection, the server may temporarily log technical data such as your IP address for operation and security. We do not use it to identify or track you.

Contacting us

The "Contact us" screen prepares a message in WhatsApp or email, and you decide whether to send it. We use what you send only to reply to you or to add a place you suggested.

Accounts and listings

If you sign up to post a listing, we store your email address and the information and photos you submit. Your email is never published. Listing content (name, description, photos and contact number) is published in the app after we review and approve it, since that is its purpose. Verification codes are delivered through our email provider.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from More → My account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, email, submissions and listings.

Reports

If you report a listing, we store the report and its reason only to review that listing.

External links

Buttons for maps, phone, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat open third-party apps or websites, which have their own privacy policies.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can send you updates. The token does not contain your name or number, and you can turn notifications off at any time in iPhone Settings.

Published listings

Business, home-business and classified listings are published with their owners' consent. To correct or remove information about you, contact us and we will handle it promptly.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. Posting listings is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
